Veera Traiwas Miller
Veera Traiwas Miller is a Thai fashion designer and the founder of TRAIWAS. Born in Bangkok and now based in New York City, Veera’s journey began with a deep passion for fashion and an entrepreneurial spirit from a young age. His work is driven by creativity, courage, and an unwavering desire to express individuality through design.
Veera’s creations include ready-to-wear pieces, couture garments, and handcrafted leather goods. Every design begins with a hand-drawn sketch, and some pieces are sewn by Veera himself in collaboration with skilled artisans. Although still growing as a designer, he remains the creative force and visionary behind TRAIWAS, known for his precision and dedication to detail.
Today, Veera is a full-time student majoring in Fashion Business Management at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York. Alongside his studies, he continues to develop TRAIWAS with a focus on understanding the fashion industry deeply and building a future entirely of his own design.
Early Life & The Path of Dreams
Traiwas was born and raised in a Thai family in Bangkok, Thailand, surrounded by an environment that nurtured creativity, hard work, and determination. He grew up in a warm and close-knit home, where both academics and extracurricular activities played an important role in his development. In his free time, he enjoyed art, drawing, and dancing, often imagining himself one day becoming a supermodel and a business leader, just like his grandparents.
After graduating from Triammit Wittaya School, Veera was determined to continue his studies abroad to gain new perspectives and experience the world beyond his hometown. At the age of 20, he made the bold decision to move to New York City — the heart of fashion — where every moment carries meaning and endless inspiration.
A Painful Chapter
Hardship began in 2019, marking the start of one of the most painful chapters in Veera’s life.
At a young age, Veera lost all of his loved ones — his parents and grandparents. Their passing forced him to grow up quickly and face the world on his own. Amid grief and uncertainty, he held tightly to the values his family had instilled in him. During those lonely and difficult times, he found comfort and warmth through the presence of his eldest brother, Phanudet.
Romance
In 2022, Veera married Christopher, marking the beginning of a deeply romantic and meaningful love story. Their relationship became a powerful source of strength that helped Veera overcome grief and uncertainty in his life. Together, they began building their life in New York City — standing by each other through every moment, supporting one another, growing together, and opening a beautiful new chapter of love in the city of dreams.
A New City
In 2023, Traiwas made the bold decision to move to New York City. Growing up in the Fraser & Neave neighborhood, an area filled with challenges — from gambling to drugs — he had always dreamed of a better environment, one that would allow him to grow, learn, and live to his fullest potential.
New York, the vibrant heart of fashion, became the destination he believed would lead him toward his dreams — a place where he could transform his future into something he designed with his own heart.
Education, Growth & Life
In early 2024, Traiwas took his first confident step toward his dream path. He enrolled at Southern New Hampshire University through an online program that introduced him to the world of digital business while steadily strengthening his English foundation, lesson by lesson.
At the same time, he continued his journey at Mercy University in the heart of New York City — a place alive with the pulse of opportunity. There, he explored the fundamentals of a new world, advancing his education step by step until May 2025.
These experiences gave him more than knowledge; they awakened confidence, ignited passion, and built the skills that once existed only in his dreams. Now, he is set to begin a new chapter at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), majoring in Fashion Business Management with a focus on marketing, e-commerce, and the true workings behind the lights and runway.
In Manhattan, Traiwas wastes no time. He embraces every opportunity — enrolling in technology courses, joining sewing workshops, and volunteering with an open heart. He began attending fashion events, connecting with people from around the world, and gracefully paving his own path in the industry he loves.
This is more than an education; it is a new chapter of life — one filled with color, energy, and meaning — a story written entirely by Traiwas himself.
